IHG has extended its New Hotel Reward Night (NHRN) 15% discount through December 31, 2026.
IHG One Rewards members booking participating newly opened or recently refreshed hotels can take 15% off in one of two ways on stays of 3 nights or fewer: 15% off the points needed for a points-only redemption, or 15% off the cash portion of a Points + Cash redemption.
For stays of 4+ nights, this cannot be combined with the Chase IHG cobrand “Fourth Reward Night Free” on the same booking — pick one.
You can access this offer on IHG’s website here.

Eligibility & Booking Rules

- Per-booking cap: 3 nights or fewer to get 15% off; for 4+ nights, split into separate bookings (e.g., 2+2 or 3+1)

Three Traps
Trap 1: 15% off vs. Fourth Night Free — 4+ nights
Chase IHG cobrand gives fourth night free on 4 consecutive reward nights. NHRN T&C says you can’t combine the two on the same 4+ night booking. So for 4+ nights at a new property:
- Example: new property dynamic 20,000×4 = 80,000 pts → Fourth Night Free = 60,000 pts
- Same property 4 nights on NHRN (not eligible as one booking; must split) = 3 nights 15% off + 1 night full, or 2+2 two bookings each 15% off
Verdict: 4+ nights at new property — run the math “Fourth Night Free vs. split 15% off”. New property dynamic pts tend high, so Fourth Night Free usually wins; 3 nights and under, 15% off is your only lever anyway (can’t use Fourth Night Free).
Trap 2: NHRN Offer Period is per-property, not “through Dec 31” blanket
Dec 31, 2026 is the program-level outer boundary, but individual properties may have stay-by dates in October or November or shorter. The participating list is dynamically maintained — click through to that property on the official page and read its “book by / stay by” before booking.
Trap 3: Points + Cash 15% off hits cash only
If you pick Points + Cash, the 15% discount applies only to the cash portion; the points portion is unchanged. Matters more on P+C structures with a higher cash ratio (resort/new-property P+C often leans this way); less meaningful on low-cash-ratio P+C.
This wave is friendliest to 2-3 night stays at new/refreshed IHG properties — e.g., weekend 2-night at a new Indigo in Australia, 2-night new Crowne in Osaka, 3-night Holiday Inn in a secondary Chinese city. Those are the “15% off points-only” sweet spot. For 4+ nights, run the Fourth Night Free vs. split-15% math.

Web Context: Dynamic Pricing + NHRN on New Properties
IHG One Rewards is fully dynamic. New-property cash rates are often soft-launch discounted, so the dynamic point baseline is lower — which makes the 15% off leverage ratio (pts saved ÷ cash equivalent) actually better on new properties than on mature ones.
- Example: new property cash ¥600/night → dynamic ~15,000 pts; 3 nights = 45,000 pts → 15% off = 38,250 pts, saving 6,750 pts
- Same property P+C假设 5,000 pts + ¥300/night → 3 nights = 15,000 pts + ¥900 → 15% off cash = save ¥135
If you time this with an IHG buy-points 100% bonus window (separate promo, not bundled here), the loop is: buy pts cheap → burn on new-property NHRN 15% off for short domestic/Japan/AU stays. Not huge absolute savings per stay, but clean for 2-3 nighters.
Is It Worth It
| Profile / Scenario | Call |
|---|---|
| 2-3 nt new property (CN/JP/AU Holiday Inn / Hi / Indigo) | ✅ 15% off points-only is free money, better leverage on new-prop low dynamic baseline |
| 4+ nt new property, Chase IHG cobrand holder | ✅ Run Fourth Night Free vs. split 2+2 — usually Fourth Night Free wins on high dynamic |
| New property P+C with high cash ratio (resort) | ✅ 15% off cash-only still saves; high cash ratio = more absolute save |
| Legacy property / not on NHRN list | ❌ Not eligible — must be on the NHRN list |
| Property whose NHRN Offer Period already expired | ❌ Per-property window, no extension — check before booking |
FAQ
Q1: What’s the overall validity of this 15% off wave?
Program-level outer boundary December 31, 2026, but each property’s NHRN Offer Period (book-by + stay-by) is independent. Some properties may have stay-by earlier than Dec 31. Check the property page on the official offer page.
Q2: Can I stack 15% off and Chase Fourth Night Free on a 4-night stay?
No. T&C says cannot combine on the same 4+ night booking. For 4+ nights, either split into two bookings (2+2 or 3+1) each taking 15% off, or use Fourth Night Free — whichever saves more points. 3 nights and under don’t trigger Fourth Night Free anyway, so 15% off is the only lever.
Q3: Which part does the 15% off hit on Points + Cash?
Cash portion only; points portion unchanged. More meaningful on high-cash-ratio P+C (resort/new-prop common), less on low-cash-ratio.
Q4: Where’s the participating hotel list?
The official offer page maintains a dynamic list — deduplicated countries include CN, JP, AU, CA, US, IN, BR, OM, DO, TC, BD and more. Live property list per the page.
Q5: Can this stack with other IHG promos (e.g., points purchase 100% bonus)?
NHRN 15% off is a reward-night discount; T&C doesn’t explicitly address stacking with non-reward-night promos (buy-points, Q3 milestone, etc.). Reward-night-class promos generally don’t stack with each other. Check the property’s NHRN page for specifics.
